Month-long campaign on water conservation launched in Upper Siang District

YINGKIONG: The PHE & WS Division, Yingkiong, in collaboration with District Water & Sanitation Committee (DWSC) and Implementation Support Agency (ISA, ArSRLM) Yingkiong, launched a month-long campaign 'Bestow' under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in Upper Siang District here on Tuesday. The campaign will culminate on September 9.

The campaign was flagged off on Tuesday by Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairman DW&SC, Taper Pada along with District ZPC Lumgeng Litin. The DC in his short speech appealed to the officials of PHE&WS department to disseminate the importance of water in life. He also appreciated the department for the campaign. During the programme, the officials of PHE & WS highlighted the aims & objectives of the campaign. The officials encouraged judicious use of water, community contribution, sense of ownership of the assets, sustainability of in-village water supply schemes, collection of water tariff for operation and maintenance of in-village water supply system and opening of bank account.
