NAHARLAGUN: Arunachal Health and Family Welfare Minister Alo Libang has called for more volunteers to fulfill blood requirements for the needy people across the State. He made this appeal while participating in the 'World Blood Donor Day' at the TRIHMS Hospital Blood Bank here on Sunday.
While appreciating the members of Anggong Society of Papumpare district and Arunachal Students Union of Shillong (ASUS), who turned up for the voluntary blood donation exercise to mark the day, Libang asked the CBOs, NGOs, students unions and other youth volunteers to continue their efforts in for this noble movement.
"Voluntary blood donation is the highest form of altruism; and by donating blood, the donors are saving the lives of many people," he said.
Libang added that a robust campaign will be initiated to mobilise more volunteers for voluntary blood donations. The myth and misconceptions surrounding blood donation should be done away through such campaigns, he pointed out.
