National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development Organizes Experts-Farmers Interface, Arunachal Pradesh

Itanagar: The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) on Saturday organized expert interaction with Bolung Farmers Club at Bolung in Lower Dibang Valley district.

Bolung Farmers Club has been promoted by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Roing and sponsored by NABARD.

During the programme, NABARD District Development Manager Nitya Mili advised all the members of Club to work together, apply appropriate technology seeking help of KVK and find solutions to the problems faced by them. He also advocated for adopting scientific method of cultivation of crops to get higher yield.

Mili also explained in detail about various Govt and NABARD schemes like CMKRY, DDUBY, DDUSY, DEDS, NLM, KCC, Rural Mart, Rural Haat, etc.

ADO T Modi explained in detail about various schemes of the State Govt being implemented by Agriculture department. She urged all the participants to come forward and enquire the officials at regular interval about the various schemes available and avail its benefit.

HDO Olivia Moyong briefed the gathering about various schemes of Horticulture department and asked them to avail their benefits. She also asked the farmers to go for area specific horticultural crops.

Senior Scientist & Head of KVK Dr T J Ramesha detailed the farmers about the prospects of various agri-horti crops grown in the region. He emphasized on value addition of the crops and informed them that by adding little value to their crops will fetch them better return.
