YUPIA: Deputy Commissioner-cum- Chairman District Health Society, Papum Pare District, Pige Ligu launched the 'National Deworming Day' (NDD) at the Dispensary Unit here on Thursday.
Ligu administered 'Albendazole' tablets to the children present on the occasion; and advised all parents to remain extra cautious and strictly follow all COVID-19 protocols and guidelines issued by the government to stop further spread of coronavirus.
Highlighting the importance of the implementation of NDD programme, District Medical Officer (DMO) Dr Komling Perme informed that during the fortnight-long 'NDD' drive from October 1 to 15, all children in the age group of 1-19 will be covered. At the grassroots level, ASHA personnel will be engaged for house-to-house coverage while strictly maintaining COVID-19 SOPs, the official added.
SEPPA: The second round of the NDD was launched in the district formally by administering an 'Albendozale' tablet to a child by the East Kameng Deputy Commissioner P Pravimal Abhishek at District Hospital here on Thursday. The District Health Society (DHS) in collaboration with the district administration has launched the programme in every Circle of the district.
DMO Dr Kaya Lapung, DRCHO Dr Dirang Pizi, DD (ICDS) W Thungon, DANO Dr SK Suman, MOs and host of officials of WCD and Health departments were also present and witnessed the launching ceremony.
