National Food Security Act 2013: Stress laid on effective execution of schemes

PASIGHAT: Members Arunachal Pradesh State Food Commission (APSFC) Nanom Jamoh and Rillang Chege reviewed the progress and status of schemes implemented by various departments in the districts of East Siang, Siang and Lower Siang of Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday. The meeting was chaired by ADC, East Siang, Taddo Borang.

Jamoh highlighted the vital role of various government departments in the effective and efficient implementation of the National Food Security Act 2013 in the State.

Chege called for selection of genuine beneficiaries as per guidelines. He also called for coordination for proper implementation of the schemes for the implementation of the National Food Security Act.

Meanwhile, ADC Taddo Borang stressed for monitoring of the supply of food materials by the administrative officers in all blocks and sub-divisions at a regular interval.

Earlier, DDSE, J Yirang, highlighted the implementation of mid-day meals in 114 schools in East Siang. He highlighted on the introduction of centralized kitchens, training to cooks and helpers on hygienic cooking and meal preparation, activities like kitchen gardening within school compounds. DDSEs of Siang and Lower Siang also highlighted on the implementation of mid day meal in their respective districts.

DFSCO, Lower Siang, apprised on the need for FCI storage in Likabali and Gensi to address storage issues and smooth functioning of the supply department.
