NH-415 between Naharlagun and Itanagar  to remain closed

Itanagar: Capital Complex Deputy Commissioner Komkar Dulom has appealed to commuters of the twin capital cities to use the Jully road for travelling instead of the highway between Itanagar-Naharlaugn during night hours as the portion of the highway will remain close for four-lane works.

The executing agency constructing the four lane is going for formation cutting at the box culvert near Dree ground at Papu Nallah of the road.

Dulom informed that the Executive Engineer of Naharlagun Highway Division, has requested to divert traffic in between Itanagar and Naharlagun via Jullang at night hours from 9 PM to 6 AM from February 23 to March 1 next in connection with the ongoing road formation project.

The particular stretch of road on NH-415 near Dree ground is extremely narrow and presents a potential risk to road users during the excavation activities and the concessionaire is planning to complete the work within a week if diverted at night hours, the DC said. After verification of the site by the district administration, police and highway department, the traffic advisory notes for closure of the road from Itanagar to Naharlagun and vice versa is hereby issued.

During the period all vehicles movement from Itanagar to Naharlagun shall be diverted via Jullang road, the DC added.

Dulom further appealed the commuter to bear with the inconveniences caused during the period.
