Home Minister Bamang Felix urges public to cooperate with construction workers

ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Home Minister Bamang Felix has said that the construction work of NH-415 road from Chandranagar-Papunallah is on full swing and satisfactory. Except the underground pass at Bank Tinali and one of the bridges at Chandranagar, FeIix assured that the NH-415 road will be completed within five months as promised by CM, if the public co-operates with the workers.

Speaking to reporters, Felix informed that he has been instructed by Chief Minister Pema Khandu to survey the ongoing work and also check any kind of law-and-order problem that may arise due to the work.

He added that due to the Coronavirus pandemic and various other reasons, the work could not be completed in time. He requested the public along with the roadside vendors to cooperate with the road construction workers for the timely completion of the project.

"To complete the work, not only the contractors or engineers but the public should also cooperate. Hopefully we will see a good road in four months.

"The two bridges at Chandranagar will take some more time to be completed. While one will be completed by December end, the other bridge will take time as there is litigation. Of course, the Department is taking all steps required for early resolution of the issue.

"Of the nine culverts proposed at the sites, five are at the completion stage and work on four others will be started soon."

Felix also directed the team of TKE — the firm taking up the work — to provide him the detailed plan and proposal of the project for further discussion. Meanwhile, the highway authorities also highlighted the shortcomings they have faced while executing the works. Felix assured all help and cooperation.

Felix was accompanied by Capital Deputy Commissioner Komkar Dulom, SP Jimmy Chiram, Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Talo Potom, Chief Engineer (Highway authority) Kuru Sera, and representatives from the highway executing agency.

Earlier, Chief Minister Pema Khandu had also assured to complete the NH-415 from Itanagar- Naharlagun by the end of March next year.
