Itanagar: The North East Frontier Technical University (NEFTU) observed its fifth Foundation Day with cheer and enthusiasm on Sunday.
Attending the function Industry Minister Tumke Bagra said that the university has made rapid development in the last five years and effort should be put together to make it a model university in the district, an official release informed here on Monday.
“Merit determines any kind of job in government or private sectors and obtaining certificate alone will not help the students in the long run,” Bagra said.
He appreciated the land donors of the Darka village for the university, ITBP and R K Mission School in the past.
The minister later and gave away the prizes to the best performers of the university.
Responding to two point memorandum pertaining to erection of boundary wall and drinking water problem in the university, he said he would try to take up the matter with concerned department.
Vice Chancellor of the University Dr Tejum Padu gave detailed history and activities of the university and felicitated the land donors of the college.
West Siang Deputy Commissioner Swetika Sachan attended the function as Special Guest, the release added.
