BORDUMSA: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bordumsa Subdivision in Changlang District of Arunachal Pradesh via official notification NO.B/JUD-09/2017 dated October 20, 2020 has declared seven dry days across the Subdivision to ensure that the ensuing Durga Puja celebration is celebrated in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility.

The judicial notification will remain effective from October 22 and will remain in force till October 27 2020. It categorically prohibits the sale of IMFL/beer and any forms of alcoholic items by all wholesale, bond and retail IMFL licensed outlets operating within the jurisdiction. Viewing with utmost seriousness the sale and consumption of liquor during the celebration period, the administration has also ordered that the all wholesale; bond and retail IMFL licensed outlets remain sealed during the period.

Meanwhile, the order issued by Bordumsa ADC Talo Jerang further empowers the Town Magistrate, Bordumsa OC and the Excise Inspector to seal the mentioned establishments on October 21 in Bordumsa township. The sales services would be restored from 9 am on October 28.

However, similar gesture has been expected by the nearby locals here in Assam counterpart from the civil administration Margherita for the effective realizations of the end. Considering the vulnerability of the locations, constant mobilizations of various government machineries have been rightfully expected from the Assam counterpart under Tinsukia District.

Meanwhile, people from various quarters inhabiting the Assam-Arunachal border location here have lauded efforts of the Subdivisional administration in its bid to ensure that the celebration passes off peacefully.
