ITANAGAR: The 19th Nyapin Assembly Peoples Forum (NAPF) has alleged misappropriation of funds worth Rs 10 crore meant for the development of Nyapin Assembly Constituency.
Addressing the media person in the press club here on Friday, Chairman NAPF-Tadar Zaman alleged that the authority of the Rural Works Department (RWD)- Laying Yangte Division allotted works worth crores to the kith & Kin of local MLA without floating any tenders.
He said that the Executive Engineer of RWD- Laying Yangte Division allotted works worth Rs 6.60 crore to the three firms namely M/S Hiya Enterprises, M/S Atu Enterprises, and M/S Paa Enterprises without floating tenders.
"As per the RTI documents procured, the works have been awarded to the three firms on the verbal commencement and instruction of the local MLA 19th Nyapin Constituency," he said.
Zaman also alleged that the work order for the maintenance of Rural Link Road (RLR) and Wire Rope Suspension Bridge (WRSB) was awarded to the same firm in the year 2015 and the funds were sanctioned in the year 2019', without the completion of work.
NAPF disclosed that the proprietor of M/S Enterprise is the wife of Executive Engineer- Laying Yangte Division and the other two are the close aide of local MLA.
"Moreover, most of the proprietors are not even enlisted as under Arunachal Pradesh Contractor enlistment Rule 2008, and registered under the capital region which is against the Arunachal Pradesh District Based Entrepreneurs and Professionals Rule," Zaman added.
NAPF has also submitted a complaint letter to the Chief Secretary of state for his immediate intervention in the fund misappropriation.
Meanwhile, the Executive Engineer, proprietors, and Local MLA couldn't be reached for their comments on the allegation by the filing of this report.
