ITANAGAR: The All Nyishi Students Union (ANSU) and All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union (AAPSU) in a joint statement said that Chief Minister Pema Khandu should give verbal assurance on the demands made by the union in a couple of days.
Failure to respond to the demands, the union has threatened to resort to the democratic movement in the state.
Addressing the media at the press club here today, ANSU President Nabam Dodum said the response from the CMO in writing is not satisfactory and hence the CM should give verbal assurances. CM who should be much concerned over the matter should have not left out for a tour.
He said the APPSC issue is a matter of grave concern as well as includes the sentiments of the aspirants and the public. Therefore, without any delay, the state government should immediately act upon the joint demands of the union.
"The state has witnessed a series of corruption in the commission in the year 2014, 2017 and now 2022. This clearly indicates the failure of state government in reforming the commission for free and fair competition among students," he said.
He said the entire case against the commission should be reinvestigated by the CBI as the union has all evidence that can prove the Investigating Officer did not perform his duty fairly. Moreover, the commission has also a secret guideline book which is not made available to the aspirants.
Dodum also said the court has clearly stated that there was a leakage of question paper in 2014. Also, the students won the case in the first bench for syllabus case in the year 2017.
"Surprisingly, the commission with the help of confidential guidelines of commission won the case, which clearly indicates the officials are involved and also the poor investigation by the IO," he said, adding that the confidential guiltiness of the commission should make available to the aspirants.
He questioned the state government as to why the officials and members of the commission still performing their duty and had not been terminated.
"If anything goes wrong during democratic movement, the state government should later not blame the union," he said, adding that the union doesn't understand why the commission is yet outsourcing to print the question paper of the examination.
Meanwhile, AAPSU General Secretary Ritum Tali also stressed reinvestigating the 2014 and 2017 cases claiming that the IO have misled the matter.
He said the CM should immediately call for a cabinet meeting along with the representative from AAPSU and ANSU on the matter. Accordingly, the CM should write a letter to the Governor to terminate the officials and members of the commission.
"Also, the guidelines of the commission should be reformed with the participation of members from AAPSU and ANSU. The commission winning the case filed against them despite providing substantial proof of corruption clearly indicates it is the collusion of the commission members and officials," he said, adding that the union will not back until their demands are accepted.
