Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan enrolment drive held in Pasighat

PASIGHAT: The Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan (PM-SYM) pension scheme for unorganized workers (UW) enrolment drive was held here at the Balaji Mandir hall on Saturday.
Local MLA Kaling Moyong, DC Tayi Taggu, Labour Officer (LO) Tore Ete and a host of political leaders, officers and hundreds of unorganized workers attended the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Moyong, while appreciating the LO Tore Ete for creating awareness on the PM-SYM pension scheme, stated that the scheme would assure a monthly pension of Rs 3000 for the enrolled unorganized sector workers during their old age.
He appealed to the informal sector workers to enroll as beneficiaries in the nearby Common Service Centre (CCC).
Assuring that there would not be any hassles with the enrolment process, Moyong told the gathering that only a form needs to be filled with Aadhar number and bank details.
"A subscriber's contributions to the PM-SYM shall be made through auto-debit facility from his/ her savings bank account per month once the enrollment process is completed," he said, appealing to citizens to help and enroll in PM-SYM those working in the unorganized sector, whether it is in one's house or in the neighborhood.
Such actions by the affluent class would greatly benefit the poor, he added.
Meanwhile, Ete informed that a should be between 18 and 40 years, having monthly income of Rs 15,000 or less to be entitled to enroll his/her name.
A subscriber under the PM-SYM would receive a minimum assured pension of Rs 3,000 per month after attaining the age of 60 years and after death, the spouse of the beneficiary would be entitled to receive 50 percent of the pension received by the beneficiary as family pension.
He also informed that such sensitization programmes were also being organized at the Mebo and Ruksin sub-divisions in addition to Pasighat and would continue up to March 13 next.
