RONO HILLS: To ensure that the varsity is following all the guidelines for the prevention of COVID-19 spread, Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Saket Kushwaha and RGU Registrar Prof. Tomo Riba visited the university health center here and interacted with the officials on Friday.

The duo during their interaction with the doctors and staff of the health center directed them to strictly adhere to the guidelines and assured the varsity’s full cooperation and assistance wherever required.

The health center’s Senior Medical Officer, Dr. Akin Tana Tara informed me that the center has the entire necessary emergency items required for handling COVID-19 cases. Joint Registrar of RGU Dr. David Pertin informed that in the situation of market scarcity for sanitizers, the Department of Chemistry, RGU, is coming up with locally made sanitizers in the department’s laboratory which will be made available for the teachers and staff in the university campus.

Apart from suspending regular classes, workshops/seminars/meetings and vacating the hostelers, the university authority is also ensuring that visitors to the university from affected regions themselves screened for COVID-19 get at the health center.
