Remove vehicles parked by roadside or face legal action: Itanagar DC

The roadside vehicles have caused traffic nuisance and has resulted in several accidents.

Itanagar: The Deputy Commissioner of Capital Complex and District Magistrate of Itanagar, Komkar Dolum has asked the owners to remove their vehicles that have been lying by the roadside for a long period of time. The vehicles are permanently parked in the roadside of state highway, NH-415, and other roads of the area.

The Deputy Commissioner has given two weeks' time for the people to remove the vehicles, failing which legal action will be taken.

The DC observed that these damaged vehicles have been lying on the side of the roads and has been the reason for several accidents and has added to traffic jams too. There is no free movement of traffic, the DC said.

If the vehicles are not removed in two weeks' time, the authority will remove the vehicles at the expense of the owners and the garage proprietors, said the DC. Penal actions will be taken according to the law. He also appealed to the public to not park the vehicles by the road, as it obstructs the traffic.

The Commissioner of Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC), Cheechung Chukhu said that the corporation has issued a notice to remove the permanently parked off-road vehicles under their jurisdiction. It is an appeal for the people of society to maintain an environment, which is clean, hygienic, and safe.
