Review Meeting to double Farmer’s Income organized in Bomdila

BOMDILA: The Zonal Review Meeting on doubling farmer’s income by 2022 for the districts of Tawang, West Kameng and East Kameng was held in Bomdila on Thursday.

Reiterating on the need for submitting sustainable schemes and proposals targeting doubling of farmer’s income as stipulated and motivating farmers as the key to success, Secretary Agriculture & Horticulture Bidol Tayeng called upon the officers and field functionaries to walk the talk by thinking out of the box and being pro-active.

The secretary said that small and marginal farmers should be given equal leverage to ensure equitable growth and income.

Advocating for the success of the flagship programme, Tayeng emphasized on proper implementation, supervision and monitoring of the schemes.

Earlier, ADC (HQ) Gombu Tsering appreciating the endeavours being made by the officers of the departments in achieving the target, opined that a little more effort would go a long way in realizing the dream. He also spoke on Swachhta Hi Seva and urged the departmental officers and the field functionaries to spread the message of cleanliness in their respective districts.

Director Agriculture A Lego and Director Horticulture J Rime also addressed the officers and asked for timely submission of UCs, proper signage’s of the projects, geo-tagging and filing of success stories.
