ITANAGAR: The Rajiv Gandhi University Students' Union (RGUSU) has served a 14-day ultimatum to the Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) authority to implement a promotion pattern for students of the terminal semester. Addressing a press conference at the Arunachal Press Club here on Sunday, RGUSU president Dopum Sonam said that the RGU authorities should come up with a concrete decision on the matter by conducting a special Academic Council meeting.

If the authorities concerned decide to conduct the terminal semester examinations, supplementary examinations of all semesters should be conducted, and two months of interactive classes should be conducted as preparation period for the students, Sonam added. He informed that the University authority had issued a tentative notification through the official website to conduct examination of the final-year students scheduled for the month of August 2020 and to promote the intermediate students. Stating that the students are not in the state of mind to appear in any examination, Sonam said that the Union strongly opposes the decision, as for every individual; health is a priority.
