ITANAGAR: The livelihood activities in Lower Dibang Valley district of Arunachal Pradesh received a major boost on Wednesday, with Deputy Commissioner Soumya Saurabh launching the ‘Roing Mart, a platform for self-help groups to market and sell their products. The objective of the mart is to provide a common centre for various farm- and non-farm based livelihood activities. The DC, while addressing the occasion, said that the journey towards proper institutional formalization has begun. She urged the self-help groups not to give up the zeal and vigour with which they are working. “You have to stay dedicated till your aims and objectives are fulfilled,” she added, assuring the continued support of the district administration and Arunachal State Rural Livelihood Mission (ArSRLM).
ADC Mamta Yadav spoke about the forward marketing linkages on online platforms. ArSRLM branch mission manager Nekuk Pertin advised the Van Dhan Vikas Kendras (VDVKs) representatives for proper and effective utilisation of machines provided for manufacturing products. Products like ginger powder, diaries, laptop bags, tablet pouches, etc. were displayed during the event. Sethok Tinnyan (Livelihoods Block Coordinator Non-Farm), Mumpi Ering (Livelihoods Block Coordinator Farm), Hibu Yasing (MIS), SHG members, and VDVKC representatives were present on the occasion.
