Saint Claret College, Ziro conducts freshers’ meet in Lower Subansiri district

ITANAGAR: The first-semester students of Saint Claret College, Ziro (SCCZ) in Lower Subansiri district were accorded a rousing welcome to the Claretine family by the management, faculty, and seniors of the college during the freshmen’s meet held at the college auditorium. ‘Ad Meliora (towards better things) was the theme of the meet. The event was a culmination of the departmental freshmen meet held earlier in the week. The finalists selected from every department were invited on stage for special introductions and the showcasing of their talents. Moli Basar of Geography and Lobsang Uten of Commerce were crowned Mr. and Ms. Fresher 2023, respectively. SCCZ staff coordinator Geeta Zirdo said that the college campus is a melting pot of cultures, ideas, and perspectives and urged the freshmen to embrace the diversity found on the campus to broaden their horizons.

The college principal, Fr. Allwyn Mendoz, said that the outcome of the new students efforts would be defined by their efforts. He also informed me that the college is all about providing platforms and opportunities for students growth. He exhorted the students to set their goals in life and work hard towards realising them. Several cultural programmes were the highlights of the day.
