ROING: The department of skill development and entrepreneurship, in collaboration with Lower Dibang Valley District administration, organized a one-day annual skill mela-cum-skill development sensitization awareness rally at Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) near here on Sunday.

The executive director of Dibang Multipurpose Project, NHPC, Janesh Sahni flagged off the rally.

Addressing the gathering, Sahini highlighted on Skill India and advised that skill makes youth self-reliant and getting a job becomes secondary if the youth adapts quality skills. He encouraged all the unemployed youth to avail the golden opportunity of Skill Mela.

Meanwhile, DC Soumya Saurabh, who is also the chairperson of the District Skill Committee, emphasized that youth should abstain from drug addiction and devote themselves to acquiring skills.

She also advised all the youth present to aim for bigger goals.

Earlier, Roing ZPM Komji Linggi and Principal (ITI) Subash Pertin also spoke on the occasion and mobilized the younger generation to learn new skills and become self-reliant.

Representatives from Zentek Educational and Welfare Society, Value Fabtex and Future Vision participated in the Skill Mela 2021-22 as training providers.

Altogether 186 unemployed youth participated in the Rally, of which 154 candidates registered themselves for different vocational training with the training providers.
