State-level Tritiya Sopan training and testing camp organized in Tawang

Itanagar: The state-level Tritiya Sopan training and testing camp 2019 for Scouts and Guides was organized at Yid Ga choi-zin in Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh from September 16 to 20 last. Altogether 25 guides and 22 scouts from various schools of Tawang and West Kameng districts were trained for Rajya Puraskar in the camp. There were 7 Guide Captains and 8 Scout masters to train the students. During the Tritiya Sopan camp the students were taken for exposure visit to various tourist and historical places of Tawang besides training on first aid, improvised rope stretcher making, other skills and character building, informed leader of the camp Tashi Neema on Friday.

In the valedictory function todayheld on Friday, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Lobsang Tsering paid homage to the founder of Scouts movement Lord Baden Powel and congratulated the staff and department for successfully conducting the camp in Tawang. In his advises to the campers he said “Whatever you learn in the camp, you should carry it forward and make use of those techniques and knowledge in your life. Be confident and study hard, do not waste your time in unnecessary gossip. Study for knowledge but not for getting degrees, the world will open gates for you if you have knowledge and skill, he said.

The students presented cultural programmes and demonstration on stretcher making, techniques to handle first aid in case of emergency and a skit on plastic pollution.
