Students Sensitized to Refrain from Drug Abuse: Dr. EV Swaminathan

Itanagar: Drugs have affected the entire world and remaining away from it will help empowerment of youth, Mumbai-based trainer and consultant Dr. EV Swaminathan told hundreds of student of Medo GS School and Apna Vidya Bhawan (AVB) at Wakro in Lohit district on Thursday.

Continuing his restless efforts to sensitize the youth, he said, “I have been generating awareness on drugs across the country, particularly on easy ways to get rid of drugs. Meditation gives mental strength by releasing endorphins resulting in ecstatic filling which empowers to say no if anyone offers drugs or other addictive substances”.

“Rajyoga meditation corrects innumerable problem, but effective particularly for rehabilitate drug addicts, mentally ill and phobic conditions”, he said before demonstrating simple methods to enhance memory reading.

Highlighting scientific concept of meditation, TRIHMS senior pathologist Dr Sopai Tawsik said that it helps alleviate all mental and physical afflictions, which are pandemic in present days.

“We may not be addicted to smoking, drinking and drug addiction, but subconsciously addicted to acceptance, shopping, gambling, negative response and emotional love, etc.,” Dr Tawsik said.

“Spirituality is the right option. We should exercise, play games and involve in co-curricular activities to avoid addiction which has gone out of control in present society,” he said, adding inviting Dr Swaminathan from Mumbai aimed at generating awareness among the GenNext for their better tomorrow.

After three-day motivational campaign in Lohit district, the team left for Hayuliang and Hawai in Anjaw district, he said. The campaign is an initiative of Tezu unit Brahma Kumaris Iswariya Vishwa Vidyalaya in collaboration with district health society.
