Itanagar: Agriculture, Horticulture, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Minister Tage Taki on Tuesday stressed on the need for proper health services in the State so that people can lead a healthy life.
Speaking at the inaugural function of the two-day diagnostic and hearing aid fitment camp held at Don Bosco Youth Centre here, Taki while highlighting the supreme importance of health in the growth of every nation, said that for Arunachal it is of paramount importance as health services are yet to achieve excellence even in urban areas.
The minister while congratulating the Association of Past Pupils of Don Bosco (APPDB) and Don Bosco Youth Centre (DBYC) for facilitating the initiative of Mumbai-based Ali Yavan Jung National Institute for the Hearing Handicapped (AYJNIHH), under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment to organize the programme, called upon the organizers to come up with more such programmes even at district level which would benefit the rural masses.
AYJNIHH head of department Dr RP Sharma in his introductory remarks iterated the commitment of the institute towards improving the lives of persons with hearing impediments.
He also expressed his happiness for coming to Arunachal after a gap of 25 years, as the first ever such camp was held here twenty five years ago.
Earlier, CC Jose of Don Bosco alumni, Itanagar and Director of Don Bosco College, appreciated the doctors and experts from AYJNIHH who took all the time and trouble to make the camp possible by partnering with DBYC.
IPS officer Kime Aya representing the Past Pupils of Don Bosco, thanked the expert team from Mumbai for collaborating with APPDB and providing humanitarian service for the people of the state.
A total of six doctors and experts from AYJNIHH are expected to interact with a large number of persons with hearing impairment during the camp which would culminate on Wednesday.
