ITANAGAR: A coordination meeting regarding the proposed 24th Technical Coordination Committee (TCC) and Regional Power Committee meeting of the North Eastern Regional Power Committee (NERPC) at Tawang on June 15 and June 16, was held in the border district on Tuesday.

The meeting chaired by Tawang DC Kesang Ngurup Damo, was attended by the nodal officer N Perme Superintending Engineer (Elect) and all head of offices of the district. The DC speaking on the occasion, sought active participation and cooperation of all the departments to make the event successful. He said that though this is not the first time such a national-level meeting is being conducted in the district, there is always a scope to make better arrangements every time.

The DC welcomed the new executive engineer (Elect) Tawang, Sang Phuntso on his home posting. Given the background of TCC and RPC meetings of the NERPC, the nodal officer N Perme informed that NERPC is the highest committee for power development of the region.

Mein, who is the chairman of the meeting, has proposed Tawang to be the venue of the event in which all the power ministers of seven north eastern states along with some senior officials from the ministry of power would participate. The nodal officer made point-by-point discussion on requirements for successful conduct of the meeting at Tawang. During discussion the departments concerned also placed their suggestions.
