The apex body of Monpa community, Monpa Mimang Tsogpa condemned the ANYA's statement

ITANAGAR: The apex body of Monpa community, Monpa Mimang Tsogpa (MMT) on Monday condemned the statement given by All Nyishi Youth Association (ANYA) president Byabang Joram on the community and sought an apology.

"Because of Tawang, Arunachal is called southern Tibet and befits to be called as Chinese as the TV channels the people listen to south Tibet news," this statement by the ANYA president is provocative, insane, unethical and un- parliamentary, MMT stated in a press release.

MMT stated that, despite the repeated claims made by China, the people of Tawang have always stood with India. The people of Tawang have shown patriotism and contributed for nation's development and always stood alongside the Indian army defending the unity and integrity of the country, it stated.

It further added the Monpa community is deeply saddened by such irresponsible statements made by the ANYA president.
