Three Drug Peddlers Held in Arunachal Pradesh

Bordumsa: In a major crackdown against the drug menace between Assam’s Margherita and Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh, a team of Changlang Police in association with F-149 unit of Changlang CRP lead by Inspector CA Namchoom apprehended 3 drug peddlers this morning beside recovering around 83 grams of suspected contraband from their possession here on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Changlang Police, the apprehended drug peddlers were identified as Md Sofi Shah (33) of Borgolai Telkhat Basti, Ganshyam Pradhan (46) of Margherita Tinali and Md Ijaz Khan (22) of Loharpatti Gali No.2 under Dibrugarh Police Station.

According to Changlang SP Romil Baniya, upon receiving a tip-off, the team laid a trap at Rangrinkan short–cut in Namdang area bordering the two States and subsequently netted the three peddlers. Meanwhile, a case to this effect was registered at Changlang police station (vide CLG PS C No 30/19 and prosecuted u/s 21(b)/28/29 of the NDPS Act).
