Training on poultry feed formulation held at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Balek

ROING: Training on poultry feed formulation with locally available feed ingredients under Micro Enterprise Development Programme, sponsored by NABARD, was conducted at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Balek near here on Tuesday.

Senior Scientist and Head and Principal Investigator of the project Dr Deepanjali Deori, DDM NABARD Nitiya Milli and progressive farmer Jatan Pulu addressed the gathering. Former Director of NRC Yak, Dirang Dr Kishore Kumar Baruah spoke during the technical session on poultry feed formulation with locally or easily available feed ingredients.

Around 30 farmers and farm women from villages of Balek, Jia, Rukmo, Rayang, Roing and Old Aballi took part in the programme. The programme was mainly undertaken to overcome the problems faced by the farmers due to high cost of commercial poultry feed and to utilize the local resources to prepare a low cost feed, which may reduce the cost of production in poultry farming and give better return to the farming community.
