He said a case vide NLG PS Case No-89/21 u/s 21 (b) NDPS Act has been registered and the accused is kept in police custody for further investigation.

"A tip-off was received by the police on Thursday. Accordingly, the team composed of Officer-in-charge (Inspector) Khiksi Yangpho and Sub Inspector S.S Jha and others conducted a surprise raid at the rental house of Joseph Kino," he said.

The sealing and packaging of the drug samples were done in the presence of independent witnesses and Circle Officer Laxmi Dodum, he added.

Gumja said that the modus operandi of such drug peddlers is that they build a chain of subordinate drug sellers for selling drugs.
