ITANAGAR: The West Siang Child Welfare Committee (CWC) under the district child protection unit, rescued two children rescued and handed over to their family. Acting on a complaint regarding two children on May 16 last, through Child Helpline, a detailed inquiry was conducted by legal cum probation officer under Child Welfare Committee, Mijum Doke.
The children were rescued and handed to their family on Thursday in presence of Child Welfare Committee, an official release informed here on Friday.
While citing the matter, Doke requested all the citizens of West Siang district not take law in their hands as child Labour in any form and child trafficking are strictly prohibited by the Constitution and Child Labour laws. He also requested the people to go through proper adoption process if any prospective parents want to adopt.
"Merely keeping a child without proper process is invalid as per relevant law," he added.
