ITANAGAR: The Arunachal Pradesh has written a letter to the Chief Wildlife Warden of Assam to ascertain and cross check whether the notified Dehing-Patkai National park falls under the disputed border areas of Assam and Arunachal, Home Minister Bamang Felix informed the Assembly on Friday. Felix, who also holds the Border Affairs portfolio, responding to a question raised by senior Congress member Wangling Lowangdong, informed that the State government is aware of the Assam government notification of Dehing-Patkai National Park on June 15 this year.

The minister added that the state government on July 15 this year had constituted a High Power Ministerial Committee (HPMC) to work out an early solution to the decades-old boundary problem.

"Directives have been issued to the deputy commissioners of 12 districts sharing inter-state border with Assam, during a meeting of the committee on Thursday, to study the current interstate border status of their respective districts in consultation with various stakeholders," said the Minister.
