ITANAGAR: Union Minister of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries Giriraj Singh has assured Ninong Ering — Arunachal Pradesh Congress legislator from Pasighat West constituency— that the Centre will fund schemes of the State on a pilot basis.
This assurance was given when the MLA called on the Union Minister in New Delhi on Tuesday. Ninong had requested Giriraj to sanction an integrated fish farm with eco-tourism facilities at Mirem village under his constituency in East Siang district.
Ering informed in a twitter message that during the meeting, he also discussed about Mithun and Yak to be reared by stall feeding with ducks and chicken on individual basis.
"He (Singh) has assured to fund these schemes on a pilot basis in Arunachal," Ering tweeted.
"I want to apprise you about the tremendous potential of villages in Arunachal Pradesh. I firmly believe that North East India can grow on the pillars of 3Cs (Culture, Commerce and Connectivity)," the MLA wrote in a letter to the Union Minister.
The lawmaker further requested Singh that Mirem village falling in his constituency must be promoted for eco-tourism by constructing fish pond with tourist amenities on the lines of Ward's Lake (Shillong).
"It will not only provide recreational services but also help in the socio-economic restructuring of our place," Ering said.
"This perennial spring water in Mirem village in Pasighat West can be converted into a lake with fisheries project and also with basic amenities like café, boating, sit outs, etc.
Even the construction of wooden footpath across the lake can add to its beauty," he added.
