ZP Chairman Denies Mismanagement Of Funds For Panchayati Raj

Panchayati Raj, Zilla Parishad, Funds: Reacting to the reports over mismanagement of funds meant for Panchayati Raj institutions, Zilla Parishad (ZP) chairperson of the Papumpare district, Chukhu Bablu on Wednesday claimed that all the funds under 14th & 15th Finance Commission of Papumpare are still available and have not been used yet. Speaking to the media, Bablu said, "All the reports against the State Government regarding mismanagement of panchayat funds are false as the funds under 14th & 15 Finance Commission are still available."

The ZP chairperson said that most of the programmes like Jal Jeevan Mission are yet to start under the Papumpare panchayat jurisdiction. He also claimed that, during COVID-19 they have received masks and sanitizers from the State Government and those were also distributed in the district.

He also informed that the district has also received seeds under kitchen garden schemes from the State Government and these have been distributed to the people.

"I can ensure that funds meant for various projects under Papumpare panchayat have not been misused. Rather, it is safe and available with the authority concerned. We are making programmes and schemes as per need and accordingly funds will be utilized," he added.
