10-day sewing training camp underway in Dibrugarh

DIBRUGARH: A 10-day sewing training camp has been going on at Jyoti Nagar in Dibrugarh from August 20. The sewing training camp has been organized by Jan Kalyan Trust in association with Sahakar Bharati, Assam. At least 90 such training camps have been organized in Assam to impart training to the women on sewing.

Prakash Kurmi, a member of Jan Kalyan Trust, Dibrugarh said, "Our main objective is women empowerment. We are giving 10 days free sewing training to the women to help them to become empowered. At least 13 women are taking sewing training at the Jyoti Nagar camp in Dibrugarh."

He said, "Labon Mandal from Hojai district has come to Dibrugarh to give training to the women on sewing. The 10-day sewing training camp will conclude on August 30." Dibrugarh Development Authority chairman Ashim Hazarika, Dibrugarh RSS Jila Pracharak Dipankar Gogoi and coordinator of Sahakar Bharati, Kalpa Jyoti Sarma were present during the inaugural function.
