10 feet long Python rescued from Madhupur in Lakhimpur district

LAKHIMPUR: A python was recovered on Friday from Madhupur, Kekuri under the Sonari Chapori Police outpost of the Dhakuakhana subdivision in Lakhimpur district. As per the report, the ten feet long python, weighing 40kg, was found by some villagers of Madhupur at nearby paddy field on Thursday evening and it was brought to Madhupur Tiniali where a large number of people thronged to look at it. At that time, a team of forest officials, led by Beat Officer Chandra Kanta Das recovered the python before it sustained any injury as per the information was given by Sonari Chapori police. Then it was brought to the forest office concerned.

Beat Officer Chandra Kanta Das informed that the python was released in Dollung Reserve Forest on Friday. Notably, another python was recovered near a petrol depot of North Lakhimpur town, named Mahabir Automobiles on December 24. It was also rescued by the forest officials and safely released in Dollung Reserve Forest.
