10 water-supply schemes inaugurated under 'Jal Jeevan Mission' in Nalbari

Altogether 10 water-supply schemes to provide safe and adequate drinking water to individual households of Nalbari under the 'Jal Jeevan Mission' were inaugurated recently. The schemes under Nalbari Division are in New Chowkbazar, Siling, Tarmatha, Ratanpur and Bakuajari will connect 1297 households.

Among them, 780 connections have already been done. These schemes will be based on a community approach to water. The move aims at creation of a 'Jan Andolan' for water, thereby making it everyone's priority.

The other six schemes — Bihampur, No2 Narua, Panigaon, Belsor (Part- I),Rupiabathan and Jagara — are included in the Belson divison of PHE (Public Health Engineering) Department.

The scheme targets 43,779 household connections.
