SILCHAR: A programme on the completion of 100 days of present Government was organized in Silchar along with the other parts of the State. The programme was arranged by the Regional office of Information and Public relations, Barak valley zone under the aegis of Cachar Administration on the various development works titled "100 days of Good Governance" at the conference hall of DRDA on Friday. At the outset, all the dignitaries were felicitated with a traditional shawl followed by lightning of lamp.
Speaking as the keynote speaker Lakhipur MLA Kaushik Rai said that the present government led by Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has brought a wave of change in various fields. He said, "On May 10, 2021, the newly elected government under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma took oath. Since then, this government has taken a number of important decisions in just three months of its formation and completely dedicated itself completely in the service of the people."
He also added that the state government has taken steps to recruit one lakh job aspirants in various departments. The recruitment process for these posts will start from September 2021 and will be completed within March 2022.
MLA Rai also mentioned that since the state government took over the reins of power, Assam Police has launched an all-out campaign against drugs across the state to safeguard the larger interests of the state and the future of the youth. Heroin, marijuana, cough syrup and other narcotics worth Rs 189.10 crore were seized. The Chief Minister himself went to Golaghat, Diphu, Nagaon, Hojai and destroyed drugs worth more than Rs 100 crore.
According to Rai, "The government, by appointing Guardian Ministers for each district, has started a new measure for ushering in all-round development".
He also mentioned about various other schemes and projects of the present government which include a museum at Silchar, treatment facilities for recognised journalists, starting of cattle milk projects in Tezpur, Lakhimpur, Dibrugarh and Silchar. He said that the Chief Minister himself is working day and night for the treatment of COVID and for a radical change in the medical system, stated a press release.
