108 fresh COVID cases reported in Sonitpur district

TEZPUR: Sonitpur District, on Wednesday, logged one more COVID-19 related casualty and 108 new infections during the last 24 hours. Of the new cases, 100 cases were detected from RAT and eight from RT-PCR tests. The new casualty has been identified as COVID-positive Harilal Sharma, 65. He was a resident of Chandmari here. He breathed his last at the Tezpur Medical College &Hospital. With this casualty, the toll tally in the district due to the infection rose to 208 during the second wave of the pandemic. Of the 7,801 tests carried out across the district on Wednesday, a total of 7,195 were done in the RAT process while the remaining ones were with the RT-PCR process.
