NALBARI: An amount of Rs 2,50,000 has been sanctioned for each of the shortlisted 108 Naamghars across Nalbari District under the 'Asom Darshan Scheme'. This amount has been sanctioned for the infrastructural development of the neo-Vaishnavite institutions.
This was announced by Nalbari legislator Jayanta Malla Baruah during the function held on the occasion at the premises of the 'Nalbari Natyamandir' while inaugurating the scheme for the district on Monday. The MLA added that initially each of these naamghars will be provided Rs 2,00,000.
Among the dignitaries present on the occasion were Nalbari Deputy Commissioner Gitimani Phukan, district president of BJP — Mriganka Talukdar, and noted 'Nagara Naam' artiste Ramcharan Bharali besides teams of 10 representatives each from 77 of the 108 shortlisted naamghars.
