Tamulpur: The culture of Tamulpur has been playing a great role in maintaining peace and harmony among the people. Tamulpur is rich in the field of culture and this has been playing a big role in accelerating development,” said Keshab Rajbongshi, a socio-cultural worker of Tamulpur, while attending the closing ceremony of the 12-day Koch-Rajbongshi folk song and folk dance workshop which was organized by Tamulpur Cultural Centre in association with the BTC cultural department and Tamulpur Nrityanjoli Kala Kristi Kendra held at Tamulpur Community Hall.

On Saturday evening, the programme started with lighting of lamp by Keshab Rajbongshi. He appreciated Tamulpur Cultural Centre and Nrityanjoli Kala Kristi Kendra, Tamulpur for organizing the programme to uplift the culture of the Koch Rajbongshi community. The closing ceremony was conducted by Shyamal Das, a cultural worker of Tamulpur.

The workshop started on October 22 and concluded on Sunday. The welcome speech was delivered by Juganta Bayan, Cultural Development Officer, Tamulpur Cultural Centre. Juganta Bayan said that to recover the endangered folk songs along with the culture of various castes and communities throughout the State, this type of workshop had been organized.

More than 100 students participated in this workshop. In this workshop, prominent musician Anil Roy, dance teacher Himasree Sarma and Uttam Roy participated as instructors.
