TEZPUR: Thirteen COVID-19 patients were discharged from Tezpur Medical College and Hospital (TMCH) on Monday after testing negative twice. They were felicitated by TMCH authorities and Sonitpur district administration with a gamosa and a basket of fruits in a small ceremony organized at TMCH.

MLA Dhekiajuli Ashok Singhal, Deputy Commissioner Manvendra Pratap Singh, Joint Director, Health Services Dr. Krishna Kemprai, Principal-cum-Chief Superintendent of TMCH, Dr Karuna Hazarika, Superintendent Dr Madhab Rajbongshi and others were present on the occasion.

The discharged patients will now have to go through 14 days mandatory home quarantine. The Sonitpur district administration arranged for their transportation to various districts.

The patients discharged are Mularam Sumol, Lakshya Sonowal, Ghana Kanta Sonowal from Dhakuakhana, Lakhimpur; Sushil Boro of Chariduar, Sonitpur; Bhagyabati Bhumij from Udalguri; Sanjib Kutum from Gohpur; Safikul Ali from Darrang; Saiful Islam, Mustafa Kaman and Faridul Islam from Dhekiajuli, Sonitpur; Aditya Singh from Bokajan, Sonitpur; Bishal Mandal from Rubber Bagan, Tezpur and Pranati Das from Puthimari, Sonitpur.
