14 swab samples in Lakhimpur test negative for COVID-19

LAKHIMPUR: The 13 swab samples sent by Lakhimpur District Health Department to the Regional Viral Research and Diagnostic Laboratory, ICMR, RMRC of Dibrugarh district for COVID-19 test on Wednesday were reported negative for the fatal virus.

Of them, 11 swab samples were sent for repeat test while the rest two were the swab samples collected afresh from two persons with suspected coronavirus exposure. In addition one more swab sample sent on Thursday also tested negative as per report sent to the District Health Department on Friday.

A total of 25 persons have still been observed in the mass quarantine facility of the district. Out of them, 14 persons have been observed at the COVID-19 hospital of the district, while 11 persons have been observed in the mass quarantine facility at OPD College.

The number of people stamped for home quarantine in the district went up to 5,232 on Friday. The Health Department stamped 91 people of the district for home quarantine on Thursday, while 80 people were stamped on Friday. On the other hand, 86 persons on Thursday, 41 people on Friday completed their 28-day home quarantine period in the district. A total of 4,099 people of the district already completed their home quarantine in the district till the date.
