Assam: 15 Fresh COVID Cases Reported in Sarupathar, Golaghat District

SARUPATHAR: Sarupathar reported 15 fresh COVID-19 cases on Sunday, pushing the COVID-19 tally in the subdivision to 888. The number of active cases is 214 while eight deaths have been reported. Altogether, Golaghat district reported 122 fresh COVID-19 cases on Sunday and recorded a total of 5,453 positive cases and 61 deaths till Sunday. The district has currently five containment zones till Sunday.

Meanwhile, to support its subscribers during the second wave of Coronavirus pandemic, Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has now allowed its members to avail second non-refundable Covid-19 advance.

Members who have already availed the first Covid-19 advance can now opt for a second advance also. The provision and process for withdrawal of second Covid-19 advance is same as in the case of first advance.

Considering urgent need of members for financial support in these trying times, Ministry of Labour and Employment in a statement said, it has been decided to accord top priority to Covid-19 claims.

"EPFO is committed to settle these claims within three days of their receipt."
