150th birth anniversary of Padmanath Gohain Baruah

GOLAGHAT: One of the pioneers of Assamese literature, the first president of Axam Xahitya Xabha, Padmanath Gohain Baruah's 150th birth anniversary was observed.

To mark the occasion, Golaghat Amateur Theatre Society has decided to stage a drama. On January 9, the prestigious Baan Theatre group of Tezpur has been invited to stage the drama Tetun Tamuly , which is one of the popular plays of Padmanath Gohain Baruah. Baan Theatre troupe will staged this drama at the Golaghat Amateur Theatre Society auditorium on January 9. The drama will be directed by Bhupen Sharma and tributes will be paid to Padmanath Gohain Baruah on that day.
