160 COVID cases reported across Sonitpur district

TEZPUR: With one more person dead, the highest number of COVID-19 cases in Sonitpur district was registered on Thursday. The number of fresh cases registered on Thursday was 160, thereby increasing the total number of active cases in the district was 719. These cases were reported from various parts of the district.

On Wednesday, 159 positive cases were reported in Sonitpur district. Official sources said, COVID positive Karun Nath (68) of Jamuguri died at Tezpur Medical College and Hospital. The total number of COVID deaths in the district increased to 36 since May of last year till today.

Till Monday, a total of 1,22,231 people have received COVID vaccine. Out of 1,22,231 people, 95,177 have taken the first dose while 27,054 people have got the second dose of vaccine in Sonitpur district.
