16th Civil Services Day celebrated in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: On the occasion of the celebration of the 16th Civil Services Day on Friday with the theme ‘Viksit Bharat-Empowering Citizens and Reaching the Last Mile’, an exhibition of the selected best initiatives across the country was organized on Thursday at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. Deputy Commissioner of Kokrajhar Varnali Deka was the only officer from Assam and one of a handful of selected officers across the country to get the opportunity to showcase their initiatives at the Central Civil Services Day Exhibition at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

Mention may be made here that Varnali Deka earlier has brought honour and accolades to Assam a number of times with a number of awards and honours including the Prime Minister’s Award, 2020 for Innovation and Aspirational District which was conferred in 2022.

Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankar inaugurated the exhibition at Vigyan Bhawan in presence of Union Minister Dr Jitender Singh and Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba and other dignitaries. In this exhibition the Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar, Union Minister Dr Jitender Singh and Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba closely interacted with the Deputy Commissioner Varnali Deka.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken part in the celebration of the Central Civil Service Day on Friday as the chief guest.
