19,429 Candidates to appear for TET Exam in Lakhimpur District

LAKHIMPUR: A total of 19,429 candidates in Lakhimpur district will appear in the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) of Lower Primary (LP) and Upper Primary (UP) schools to be held on Sunday. Of the 11,648 candidates will sit for the TET of the LP school teachers while 7,781 will appear the same held to attain the eligibility of UP school teachers. A total of 33 TET centres, 26 in North Lakhimpur subdivision and 7 in Dhakuakhana subdivision, have been already established across the district to hold the test concerned.

The Lakhimpur district administration has already completed all arrangements for the smooth conduct of the event. The district administration has engaged 30 supervising officers in order to supervise the TET centres. The office of the Inspector of Schools also has engaged same number of supervising officers for the same reason.

Similarly, the Dhakuakhana subdivisional administration also left no stone unturned to hold the test in the seven centres established under the jurisdiction of the subdivision averting any kind of untoward anomalies. The district and subdivisional administrations already promulgated 144 CrPC in the TET centres and prohibited the entry of guardians and parents or any other persons to the 50-meter radius of the centre premises. No candidate will be allowed to carry any loose paper sheets, guide books and any electronic devices like mobile phones, calculators, tablets, and pagers to the exam halls. Candidates are instructed to write their answers with pens with blue or black ink. Presentation of admit card as proof of the candidature and Aadhar card or PAN card or bank passbook as identity proof is compulsory.

On the other hand, D.El.Ed. Qualified Trainees Forum of Dhakuakhana president Raju Kumar Doley and secretary Rajiv Baruah extended thanks and gratitude to P&RD Minister and Dhakuakhana MLA Nabakumar Doley and Subdivisional Officer Arindam Baruah for the necessary steps taken to establish seven TET centres in the subdivision after responding to the demand raised for the same by the forum.
