20th Foundation day of Nativers’ Institute of Bodology celebrated

KOKRAJHAR: The 20th foundation day of Nativers’ Institute of Bodology (NIB) was successfully celebrated on Monday at its office campus, Sudempuri in Kokrajhar. The Cabinet Minister of Assam UG Brahma attended the programme as the chief guest and inaugurated the open session. The programme was also attended by Dr. Nilut Swargiyary, Executive Member of BTC who launched the 1st issue of ‘HALALI’, the annual magazine of NIB.

In the event, many academicians, writers, intellectuals and students were present. The 3rd Praban Nath Borgoyary Memorial Lecture was held. The memorial lecture was chaired by Prafulla Hajoary, retired ACS officer and the invited speakers were Prof. Indira Boro from Bodoland University and Dr. Ranjita Brahma from Kokrajhar Girls’ College, Kokrajhar.

Dr. Surath Narzary, the president of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) was felicitated. Some eminent personalities of the Bodo community were honoured.
