TINSUKIA: The 22nd biennial conference of Tinsukia District Journalists' Association (TDJA), an affiliated body of Assam Union of Working Journalists (AUWJ) will held from March 12, 2021 with 3-day elaborative programme at Kakopathar under the aegis of Kakopathar Press Club (KPC).
In a public meeting held at Kakopathar Public Field on Monday with Bimal Chandra Buragohain, former principal of Kakopathar HS School, a strong reception committee was constituted. Moderated by Bijoy Dutta, president KPC, Ratul Kalita, Secretary of KPC laid the objective of the meeting. Following threadbare discussion, it was decided to hold a workshop on Dirak-Sumoni bund, ethnic cultural meet, marathon race etc synchronising with the event. The members of the reception committee formed in the meeting are Bimal Chandra Buragohain and Birinchi Saikia as president and working president respectively, Bijoy Dutta as secretary, Ratul Kalita and Dwipen Neog as joint secretaries while Mintu Talukdar has been selected as treasurer. The Bhadra Krishna Goswami Memorial Journalist Award on investigative journalism of TDJA and Parag Bhuyan Memorial Young Journalist Award instituted by KPC will also be presented in the biennial conference.
