23 Bn SSB seizes consignment of foreign liquor in Udalguri district

TANGLA/UDALGURI: The troops of 23 battalion of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) stationed at Lalpool in Udalguri district on Friday intercepted an Alto car (AS12F5740) at Angrajuli in Udalguri district and recovered a consignment of 144 bottles of foreign liquor, including beer cans and whiskey bottles. One Suman Narzary, an inhabitant of Angrajuli area of Udalguri, was apprehended.

The consignment was later handed over to the Excise Department of Udalguri. According to sources, based on specific input, SSB sleuths of Border Outpost, Kachubil made the recovery. Commandant of 23 battalion of SSB, Rohitasawa said, "SSB is tackling COVID-19 and anti-social elements simultaneously and SSB personnel will not let the pandemic situation be an opportunity for the anti-social elements."
