BAKSA: The 24 Bn Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) is manning the Indo-Bhutan border and is securing 75 km of international border. Apart from mandated charter of duties of stopping smuggling of narcotics and drugs, human trafficking and illegal arms and ammunition, 24 Bn SSB is also carrying out welfare oriented Civic Action Programmes in the north-eastern region in its area of responsibility covering Baksa and Udalguri districts under the leadership of Hrishikesh Sharma, Commandant of 24 Bn SSB, Rangia.

Special four weeks of basic computer course for 48 unemployed youths from border area (HRD programmes) was conducted at Career Info, Tamulpur, in Baksa district, recognized by the National Board of Computer Education. The closing ceremony of this course was held on Thursday at Tamulpur Higher Secondary School in the presence of Hrishikesh Sharma, Commandant, 24 Bn SSB Rangia, who distributed computer certificates recognized by the National Board of Computer Education to the beneficiaries of this vocational training course.

Pankaj Sharma, Deputy Commandant, Deepak Savita, Deputy Commandant, 24 Bn SSB, Rangia, other officers and officials and Amarsingh Brahma, Principal of Career Info, were also present during the closing ceremony. Hrishikesh Sharma told the local youths about the benefits of learning basic computer skills and how these skills would help them in getting jobs in private as well as in government sectors. He also motivated the youths to join the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) to strengthen the security of the country.
