BAKSA: The COVID-19 situation has taken a serious turn in the Nagruli area of Tamulpur subdivision in the district of Baksa.

A few days ago, a 71-year-old man named Chabilal Khanal of Baltipar village died of COVID. Under Nagarijuli Model Hospital, 38 people have tested positive in the last 28 days and as of now, 13 of them are active cases.

Significantly, eight persons tested positive on Friday after undergoing Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) at Nagrujuli Model Hospital. They have been identified as TapanRajvanshi (28) of Sahpur village, NagenKalita (52) of Tabitola village, MithunBiswas (31) and Tapas Biswas (25) of No 2 Bagrikhuti village, SewaSarkar (55) of No 1 Bagrikhuti village , LangkeshwarChoudhary (50), RimjhimRamchiary (33) and YugamiRamchiary (23) of Baltipar village.

A total number of 11 persons at Tamulpur Primary Health Centre, five persons at Kumarikata Primary Health Centre and one at Gandhibari Sub Health Centre tested positive. Including the eight persons of Nagrijuli, total 25 persons tested positive in Tamulpur subdivision on Friday.

Meanwhile, people have demanded that the Rapid Antigen Test KITs be supplied to the Nagarijuli Model Hospital in ample quantity. The people of the area have also demanded appropriate action by the health department and administration to prevent mass transmission of coronavirus in the Nagrijuli area.
